Two
female students of the University of Benin were reportedly hit by a
speeding army vehicle in front of the university. One is dead while the
other is seriously injured.

Tragedy struck at the Ugbowo campus of the University of Benin at
10:15 am on Sunday morning, 19th of July when a speeding army vehicle
reportedly hit two female students of the school.
It was gathered that the two girls were hit by an Army Vehicle with the inscription “Thunder Storm Patrol 28″ while they were crossing the Lagos/Benin Expressway which is just in front of the school gate. The unlucky students were coming out of their off-campus hostels which is situated at BDPA Beside Odaro Plaza.

The impact of the hit was so hard that one of the girls was thrown
into a nearby bush while the other was found lying along the road. They
were hurriedly carried to the hospital for medical attention.
An I.D Card found in one of the girl’s bag indicated she was a 200 level student of philosophy while the details of the other cannot be confirmed yet.
