El
Chapo's vanishing act caught on camera! Prison cell footage shows moment
Mexican kingpin jumped from his cell into elaborate network of
underground tunnels before riding a motorbike to freedom.
Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman
Sinaloa Billionaire Drug Cartel boss, Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman’s
grand escape from his prison cell has been revealed. In the footage
which was released by Mexico's National Security commissioner, Monte
Alejandro Rubido, the druglord is spottd walking back and forth in his
cell and sitting on his bed before heading to an area near his shower.
In a press conference, the commissioner said that prior to Guzman’s
escape, his behavior appeared to be natural of an inmate who spends
long hours in a cell as he was later found to have tunneled his way to
freedom by cutting a gaping hole in the floor of his shower.
Incredible pictures show just how the Cartel boss managed to escape
using a motorbike within minutes of breaking out from his
maximum-security prison along a mile-long track that took his engineers
nearly a year to build.
The motorbike, secured by its front wheel to the rails, was waiting
for Guzman as he descended more than 30ft down a ladder into the tunnel
from his prison shower block. As well as the rails the photos show the
narrow space complete with oxygen supply piping overhead.
The cells do, however, have two blind spots from the camera, to
allow for privacy in the bathroom and in the shower. Guzman reportedly
used an opening in the shower to begin his elaborate grand escape.
