An
unidentified woman has dumped her unwanted baby at a refuse site near
the Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School at the Old Kutunku
village in Gwagwalada area of Abuja.
Life is so uneven, as some barren women run from churches to
hospitals in search of the fruit of the womb, some stone-hearted women
are allegedly discarding their babies.
A yet to be identified woman dumped a new born baby boy at a refuse
dump near the Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School at the Old
Kutunku village in Gwagwalada area of Abuja, the Federal Capital
Territory.
A resident who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed that
the baby boy who is suspected to be 2 months old was dumped in the dark
hours of Sunday, June 5. The baby was discovered by a woman who went to
dispose some waste. The woman, gripped by shock alerted the Village Head
who mandated some elders to pick up the child.
One of the residents named Michael Ayuba said, “The cry of the baby attracted the attention of the woman, who found him wrapped with a cloth at the refuse site. She ran back to inform the chief.”

The baby has been handed over to the Social Welfare Department of the council.
