Masquerade Arrested For Stabbing Priest In Enugu


Three persons have been arrested in Enugu following the allegations of physically assaulting and stabbing an Anglican priest under the guise of playing masquerade.

 
According to Vanguard, policemen attached to the Enugu state Police Command swooped in on three persons in the state for allegedly beating up and also stabbing an Anglican priest under the guise of playing masquerade.
 
The police were yet to confirm the reason behind their actions as at the time of filing in this report but a statement from the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu confirmed the three accused person were in police custody for interrogation and their masquerade regalia has been confisticated.
 
"Operatives of Igboeze North Division of Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police have nabbed three suspects (names withheld), all of Igogoro, Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State for allegedly conspiring to beat and stab one Reverend Christian Ajibo, an Anglican priest, last Thursday with a dagger on the right side of his chest”, Amaraizu said.
