The Manchester Evening news is reporting that Manchester United are lining up monster bids for a trio of world-class talents this summer.

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale and Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels will be targeted in the summer, despite both claiming they are happy where they are right now, while the MEN also claims that the Red Devils will be keeping a close eye on Kevin Strootman as the AS Roma midfielder aims to bounce back from his latest spell on the sidelines.
In the report, which you can read here, they claim that Louis van Gaal’s bizarre transfer dealings have cleared the decks for some big-money arrivals at Old Trafford this summer. After signing Salford City’s (non-league) Sadiq El Fitouri and unknown Bolton youngster Andy Kellet, plus adding Victor Valdes on a free transfer, it was a strange transfer window for LVG but he managed to get big earners Anderson and Darren Fletcher off the wage bill.

But with a new record-breaking endorsement deal with adidas set to kick in this summer (United will be paid $1.2 billion over the next 10 years) and a potential return to the UEFA Champions League sealed for next season, Bale, Hummels, Strootman and others are being lined up.
If van Gaal gets United back into the big time of the Champions League, does he deserve to splash the cash once again, just like he did last summer to bring in the likes of Angel Di Maria, Luke Shaw, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Radamel Falcao? With United aiming to challenge for the title sooner rather than later, it is the only way they can compete with Chelsea and Manchester City.
Better get spending this summer, Louis… “What’s that? Oh, you plan to. Makes sense… carry on.”
