All Lawyers Representing Saraki Dump Him Openly In Court

If you are looking for the latest political Maradona in Nigeria, go to Bukola Saraki.9jafeds have just been told by a credible source in Abuja that the Senate President is introducing tricks in his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to make sure that the trial does not take place.

After losing the big to stall the trial at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, Saraki's lawyers introduce a very funny gimmick by dumping him live in court, announcing they are all withdrawing from the case.

What is their reason for dumping Saraki?

It's all a plan. They want the CCT to adjourn the case for another one month and by the time the trial will be due again, it will be getting close to Christmas and other holidays. But the Judge refused.

Saraki told the CCT that since his lawyers have abandoned him and his case, he needs one whole month to get other lawyers to represent him in court. But Judge Danladi said he can only give one week.

Fayose Receives Warning From Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has warned the vocal Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose over his rants about the lowest financial allocation to the state governments issued by the Buhari administration.

The presidency yesterday warned Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, to stop making unsubstantiated allegations pertaining to the running of the economy by the federal government.

Specifically, the presidency said Fayose’s comment on the September federal allocation of N389 billion was reckless and typical of his past unguarded outbursts.

The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, who sounded the presidency’s warning, was reacting to remarks made by the governor at the recent graduation ceremony of College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, in which he asked President Muhammadu Buhari to address Nigerians on the state of the economy.

Specifically, Fayose had accused the Buhari administration of paying out the lowest-ever federally distributed allocations among the three tiers of the government.

But in an exclusive chat with pressmen last night, Garba Shehu described Fayose’s assertion as one that was characteristic of his past outbursts, saying “the governor didn’t get his facts correct.”

It was gathered that the Senate president is trying to call truce with senators of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the confirmation of former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, as a minister.

 

 

Sources from both sides confirmed that reconciliation was ongoing and that the Senate president had reached out to the PDP legislators to sustain their friendship, Tribune reports.

 

A source  said: “The Senate president is unmindful of the friendship between him and the PDP senators and he is not taking that for granted. He has immediately reached out to the senators and assured them that party loyalty was responsible for his actions. I think they are resolving the grievances.”

Responding to the questions concerning the released list which the presidency denied, the Special Adviser to President Mohammadu Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina said that the list did not emanate from the presidency as it was not officially signed.

 

He said: “Any communication from the presidency must be officially singed. Was that list signed by me or Mr. Garba Shehu? Please, ignore it."

 

He also did not reveal when the inauguration ceremony of the Ministers would hold.

According to The Cable, President Buhari revealed that some of the ministerial nominees will end up “sitting” in federal executive council sessions rather emerging substantive ministers.

In an interactive session with journalists in New Delhi, capital of India, on Friday, Buhari lamented state of the economy, saying: “The government is broke”.

“There used to be 42 ministers but we will be lucky if we can have half of that now, others may not be substantive ministers but they will sit in the cabinet because that is what the constitution says and we cannot work outside the constitution.

“Where is the money? Nigeria cannot pay salaries. The federal government had to assist 27 out of the 36 states to pay salaries… The country was materially vandalized and morally sucked.”

Ignore Messages Requesting for BVN - CBN Warns the Public

The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned bank customers to ignore text messages alleged to be from their banks asking them to disclose personal bank informations.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Friday urged bank customers to be cautious of unknown individuals alerting them on the deactivation of their bank accounts due to incomplete registration for Bank Verification Number.

This is contained in a statement by Mr Ibrahim Mu’azu, Director, Corporate Communications of the CBN posted on the apex bank’s website.

The statement gave example of the message as:

"Dear customers, due to the new BVN policy of the CBN your account have been deactivated and to reactivate call…."

The CBN warned individuals and the general public that those messages are intended to lure bank account holders to reveal their personal details with which the fraudsters could use to defraud them.

The statement also made it clear that neither the CBN nor their employees or agents would ever call bank customers or send e-mail/text messages requesting for passwords, card details or Personal Identification Number.

Lives gone just in a flash! A Russian passenger plane crashed Saturday in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, killing all 224 people aboard. Many of the 224 passengers on flight were Russians returning from vacation. The passenger manifest included 17 children.
