President of Cameroon, Paul Biya has faulted the lackluster attitude of former President Goodluck Jonathan on the war on Boko Haram  for being responsible for the growth of the insurgency which has affected the region in recent years.

According to the Daily Sun, a reliable source revealed that Goodluck Jonathan was accused of failing to cement a collaboration with the leadership of neighbouring countries to wage war against the terrorist group.

The source said during Buhari’s interaction with his Cameroonian counterpart, Paul Biya, he disclosed that Jonathan isolated himself from the leaders of Cameroun, Chad and Niger.

“The major complaint, according to Biya, is that Jonathan never or seldom, at best, picked his calls. He said most times he called, Jonathan neither picked nor returned his calls. And as a result, the integration of efforts that should have stopped Boko Haram’s foray and unchallenged run was lacking”

Biya, according to the source claimed Jonathan must have replicated the same treatment to the leaders of the neighbouring countries who had no option than to leave the battle with the sect in the hands of Nigeria alone which was not sufficient.

“This solo handling of the problem did not enable the neighbours put in much to solve the problem until it got this bad,” the source added.
