According to PMNews, the incident happened along Isolo road, Ikotun Lagos state where both reside. She was charged before Ejigbo Magistrate’s court with conduct likely to cause breach of public peace under the Criminal Code.
Joy said she borrowed Ruth the money which she used to buy cloth and shoe with a promise to repay at a later date. But trouble started when Joy demanded her money back and Ruth refused to pay the money. According to Joy, “she reneged on the initial agreement they had and began giving flimsy excuses”.She said she decided to forcefully take off her cloth and shoe because she knew Ruth used her money to buy them.
Joy targeted Ruth when she wore the cloth and shoe to attend a function and ordered her to take them out in public. When Ruth refused, she grabbed her and bit her breast and forced her into submission. She then pulled the cloth and the shoe and went away leaving Ruth naked.
The police at Ikotun division intervened and arrested Joy for the assault and charged her to court. When she was arraigned, she pleaded not guilty on the two count charge. The presiding Magistrate, Mrs M.B. Folami granted her in the sum of N10, 000 with one surety in like sum. The matter was adjourned for settlement
