2015: Uduaghan pulls out of senatorial race

AHEAD of the tomorrow’s senatorial primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, Friday withdrew from the Delta South Senatorial race. He said his decision to withdraw from the race was in the interest of peace and security of the State.

Briefing newsmen in Asaba, Uduaghan said he has to offer himself as a sacrifice to sustain the peace and security in the state’’. He added that the election was not ‘’do or die’’, adding that there has been ethnic tension which seemed to be ‘’threatening peace and security of the State’’.

Insisting that he would do everything to stop anything that would threaten the peace and security of the state, he said he came in at a time when the state was being faced with a lot of security issues ‘’but the state is much more peaceful now than I met it’’.

Shocker! Kolade blasts Jonathan: Your Leadership Is A Failure

It looks like it's only those eating from President Goodluck Jonathan that are praising him. A former head of SURE-P, Dr. Christopher Kolade, on Thursday condemned Jonathan for not showing the right leadership in the manner he had been handling his responsibilities as the nation’s president.

He made reference to Jonathan’s decision to honour a political rally in Kano shortly after a bombing that killed several Nigerians, saying the best he could have done was “to postpone the political event.”

For choosing to continue with the programme, he said, the President did not demonstrate that he was sensitive to the pains of the people he is leading.

Bajoga in Gombe state under attack by Boko Haram

Bajoga town in Gombe state is currently under attack by Boko Haram members. According to reports, the militants came into the town in the very early hours of this morning, breaking into homes, shooting at people and blowing up things.

Bajoga is the host community for the Ashaka cement factory where the sect members visited some weeks back, stealing dynamites and other explosives.

A leaked internal state document obtained by South Korean television contained 'an administrative order' to all party, army and police officials to ensure that the directive was carried out. According to the document....

 'All party organs and public security authorities should make a list of residents named Kim Jong-Un... and train them to voluntarily change their names.'

Our politics and politicians are hilarious. So a coffin was brought to the PDP national secretariat in Abuja today that sent PDP chairman and other party members running for their lives. LOL

Angry PDP members from Rivers state today staged a weird protest against the leadership of the PDP over the choice of former Education Minister Nyesom Wike as the party's Governorship candidate for River state in the 2015 elections. The protesters who stormed the party secretariat around 6am with the coffin, barricaded the entrance of the secretariat, stopping everyone who worked at the building from gaining entrance. The Presidency on Tuesday replied Prof Wole Soyinka, after he described President Goodluck Jonathan and his many acts of political impunity in recent times as worse than King Nebuchadnezzar, saying he was only playing the ostrich by accusing Jonathan.

A female suicide bomber, who was arrested by the civilian JTF in Borno State, has revealed that 50 other female suicide bombers have been let loose by the heartless leadership of Boko Haram with a mandate to kill 100,000 innocent Nigerians before the end of December 2014.

Of the two female suicide bombers, one was said to have been arrested by civilian JTF at the entrance gate of the University of Maiduguri, while another was apprehended at the busy Post Office area of the metropolis, yesterday.

52 female suicide bombers commissioned to Maiduguri

There are 52 female suicide bombers on the prowl in Maiduguri, a member of the youth vigilante group has revealed.

It could be recalled that two suicide bombers were unleashed on Maiduguri last week causing the death of over 35 people.Two others were unleashed on the town this Monday causing six deaths and 36 injured people.
Speaking to Thisday Live on Monday after the two attacks on the Maiduguri Monday Mmarket, the source said the youth vigilante group had made it difficult for the insurgents to visit massive mayhem on the town with the incessant search of vehicles and people of the town.

It is wrong to equate Islam with violence-Pope Francis

Pope Francis said last night that equating Islam with violence was wrong and called on Muslim leaders to issue a global condemnation of terrorism to help dispel the notion.

He told reporters aboard his plane returning from a visit to Turkey that he understood why Muslims were offended by many in the West who automatically equated their religion with terrorism. He said

"You just can't say that, just as you can't say that all Christians are fundamentalists. We have our share of them (fundamentalists).All religions have these little groups. They (Muslims) say: “No, we are not this, the Koran is a book of peace, it is a prophetic book of peace”.’(continue)

Why Fashola was ruled out as APC vice presidential candidate

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has been widely applauded  as one of the best governors in Nigeria. He is also the only APC govern who was re-elected for a second term . It was widely believed, he may be a vice Presidential candidate. However, a new report by Punch claims a highly placed source in APC revealed he missed out on the chance because he's muslim.
