Yakubu Dogara were all present earlier today at the 55th Independence
Day Celebration observed at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The embattled Senate president, Bukola Saraki, arrived the venue
just after the arrival of Yakubu Dogara. VP Yemi Osinbajo who arrived a
few minutes later, shook hands with the dignitaries including Saraki
before taking his seat beside the Speaker of the House of
Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

Buhari, on arrival at about 10.05am, received the national salute
and proceeded to the pavilion where he shook hands with the dignitaries
including Saraki and took his seat between Osinbajo and the President of
the Senate, after granting a presidential permission for the parade to
proceed.

The event which was the ceremonial change of guards began with the
parade after which the National Anthem was recitted. Next on the agenda
was the 21 gunshots to honour the President and shortly after that,
President Buhari signed the anniversary registrar.
The event came to an end after President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice
President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker
Yakubu Dogara stepped forward to cut the 55th anniversary cake.
