3 Confirmed Dead As Helicopter Crashes in Lagoon Along 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos

A helicopter has crashed into the lagoon at Oworo/Oko Cole area of Third Mainland Bridge on Wednesday afternoon.
 
An unidentified helicopter is reported to have plunged into the lagoon behind Oworonsoki Police Station. An eyewitness says the helicopter made a loud noise before nose-diving into the popular Third Mainland Bridge area in Lagos on Wednesday, August 12.

Eyewitness says that the aircraft marked 5NBGD was said to be coming from one of the oil rigs in Escravos area of the Niger Delta and was said to be heading for Lagos Island when it went down around 3.p.m
 
It was gathered that the police and officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have begun rescue operations at the scene of the crash. Below is how some people are reporting it on Twitter;
 
UPDATE - 6:10pm:
According to reports, 3 people on board have been confirmed dead in the accident while four wounded ones were moved to the nearby Gbagada General Hospital.
According to the Divisional Police Office, Oworonshoki, CSP Chijioke Nduka, who led officers to the scene to rescue victims, 'there was a loud sound from the aircraft before the crash'. He said more officers including the Area Commander Ikeja Command, were at the scene assisting operatives of NEMA in the rescue operations
