Presidency gives Sokoto Assembly Money to Impeach Wamako

The governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wamakko, has revealed that the Presidency in cahoots with some dirty politicians in the state have made clear attempts to induce members of the State House of Assembly to cook up charges and commence impeachment process against him.

The governor made the disclosure after the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Lawalli Zayyana, stated that members of the House were induced by the Presidency with cash incentives to disregard law and order and impeach the governor from office.

Update On Adamawa Election: How Jonathan Saved Ribadu

President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu were instrumental to the granting of waiver to Mallam Nuhu Ribadu by the PDP in Abuja on Friday, Punch has learnt.

With this, Ribadu is cleared to take part in the party’s September 6 governorship primary in Adamawa State if he and others are eventually cleared by the screening panel on Saturday.

Also cleared to face the panel are Buba Marwa and Mr. Marcus Gundiri, who also applied for the waiver.

3 hotel staff in Lagos arrested for recording customer’s sex act and blackmailing him with it

Three hotel attendants namely, Sunday Okon, 23; Rita Emmanuiel, 28; and Goodness Akpan 24; all staff of an undisclosed hotel in the Ogudu area of Lagos were yesterday August 28th arraigned before an Ogudu Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos for allegedly filming a hotel customer's sex act on August 13th and using it to blackmail him.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the three accused persons used the hotel's CCTV to record an unidentified man's sex act with his girlfriend. They produced a DVD on it and used it to demand a N10million ransom from the man. They also posted the video on Facebook on Aug 13th and 23rd after the man refused to pay up. Continue...

UNBELIEVABLE: Man survives huge metal bar pushed through his head in China [Photos]

Mr Ho, 50, was dismantling a property in Guangxi Province in China when a steel rod fell from above. Miraculously, he managed to survive the rod's impact, entering through the right side of his forehead and exiting through the left side of his jaw.

Paramedics called to treat Mr Ho were astounded to find him entirely conscious and lucid, despite the inch-thick rod embedded inside him.

After having fire fighters removed most of the metal bar outside his head, Mr Ho was moved to a larger hospital for further treatment. Complex emergency surgery allowed doctors to remove the remainder successfully and staff say Mr Ho is recovering well and out of danger.

As a young boy he was diagnosed with Congenital Scoliosis and an abnormal chest frame which made his neck grow extra three inches. This causes him a lot of pain and makes it hard for Fu to walk. Congenital scoliosis is caused by the bones in the spine developing abnormally in the womb.

President Jonathan Launched the new E-National identity card in Abuja today .The card which was created in collaboration with Mastecard, is a multi-purpose card for identification, electronic signatures, biometric on-card verification, and other applications.

Cardholders can use it for depositing funds ,withdrawals, getting social benefits and making payments for goods and services at any location accepting MasterCard worldwide.

3 million cards will be issued during this first enrolment phase, while other Nigerians who are 16 years and older are expected to be enrolled subsequently.

My Wife Used Juju to Make Me Marry Her ––Husband Reveals

Some marriages these days is all about deceit and serious tension. A woman has appealed to an Ibadan court to dissolve her 8-year-old marriage, because her husband, Lukman Aguntasoolo left her for his first wife.

The woman, Rianat Aguntasoolo, told the Grade C customary court at Agodi-Gate that Lukman does not carry out his responsibilities as the head of the house.

She said, “ There is always trouble in our home because we fight nearly everyday. He has abandoned me for his first wife. Lukman doesn’t cater for me and our children. The moment I challenged him for not performing his duties at home he began to accuse me of committing adultery. He would go as far as checking my belongings and spying on me all the time.”

But in his response, Lukman revealed that his wife's children did not belong to him...
He accused her of sleeping around. He claimed that his wife had been invlolved in an extral marital affairs with an Alfa who rented her an apartment before he met her.

“I later opened a shop for her. I thought Rianat was going to change from her old ways but she rather became worse. She would go out and come home late in the night. Rianat is promiscuous, I don’t want her as my wife any longer,” he said.

Lukman accused her of using diabolic means to marry him, after he allegedly found devilish materials (juju) in her wardrobe which he brought as evidence to the court.

The court concluded that the case between the couple was a complicated one, and called for DNA test to be conducted in order to determine the father of the children.

Runaway Nigerian soldiers return from Cameroon

Some of the Nigerian soldiers that fled to Cameroon following a fierce battle with Boko Haram militants in locations around Borno and Adamawa states have returned as residents of Mubi town in Adamawa Statereported seeing tired and tattered-looking soldiers arrive.

According to Premium Times,the residents said they saw several soldiers, wearing torn uniforms and gloomy faces, returned in the wee hours of Tuesday.

A resident, Joseph Baba, said

“we saw some of them purchasing second hand clothes at the Mubi main market”.Initially, we were afraid. People panicked when we sighted the troops. They arrived in the wee hours and people began to scamper for safety because no one knew their mission. I even thought they were Boko Haram disguised in military uniform as the insurgents usually do,” The Defence Headquarters issued a brief statement confirming the return of the soldiers.

According to the 32-year- old father of two who hails from Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State.

Nobody Can Stop Jonathan In 2015 ––EK Clark

Tough-talking Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan will contest the 2015 presidential election and that nobody can stop him.

He said there is no way another four years of Jonathan Presidency would bring an end to the country, claiming that all those who had ruled the country before spent two terms.

Clark stated this in Abuja on Friday while playing host to a delegation of Northern Women in Politics under the aegis of - Northern Women Mass Movement for President Jonathan 2015 Ambition.

He said, “Jonathan will contest in 2015 because of two things; one, he is qualified to do so under the law and secondly, he has performed well to the extent that those who voted him in 2011 are willing to do so again. 

“Nobody has a right to stop him from contesting. Every President who has ruled this nation spent two terms. We voted for Alhaji Shehu Shagari as President in 1979 and 1983 respectively.

Following an attack on one of the country’s foremost police training institutions, the Police Academy, Gwoza, Borno State by Boko Haram on Wednesday, the Nigeria Police has reached out to the military to come and help protect its facilities in the North.

A senior security official, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the last attack on the police college was seen in security circles as the beginning of the sect’s campaign against police formations.

The source said, “We know the sect is targeting the Police and other security formations. We have put our men on the alert. We are seeking the assistance of the military and other security agencies to ensure security of our facilities.”
