Majority Leader of the Rivers House of Assembly, Mr. Chidi Lloyd has
been discharged and acquitted by a High Court in Port Harcourt after
been charged of attempted murder.
Mr Lloyd was alleged to have hit one Mr Michael Chinda on the head with a mace during a fight between supporters of Governor Ameachi and some legislators in 2013 and was arrested and charged for attempted murder.
While delivering the judgement, the judge said, there was nothing the court could do in the matter as the police was not willing to prosecute the case further, so he was discharged and acquitted.
