Jose Mourinho's men suffer humiliating defeat at the hands of Watford FC (Watford 3-1 Man U)

Jose Mourinho's Man United 'redemption work' is now in tatters. Following a transfer outlay of almost £150m (almost £100m for Paul Pogba alone), and three losses in the last three games (Man city, Feyernord, and Watford) it's safe to say Jose Mourinho's dream of making the club the World's most feared club is kinda fading.

The last time Manchester United was beaten by Watford was almost 30 years ago, so one might start to wonder will Mourinho break records negatively just like his predecessors Louis van Gaal and David Moyes?
Despite a Rashford equaliser, goals from Etienne Capoue, Suniga and a penalty by Deeney were enough to secure three points for Watford.
Watford started the first twenty minutes in impressive form with Ighalo missing a sitter and Deeney testing the goal keeper but it wasn't long before the first goal of the encounter came. Martial collecting the ball after a corner kick tried to contol the ball with his team mate Luke Shaw overlapping on the left side anticipating a pass from Martial, Martial was well tackled before a pass from the right side found Capoue who slotted the ball calmly into the net.

THE RICHES OF "MAMA PEACE"

by Sonala Olumhense

How much is Patience Jonathan worth? You can keep your guess. Here is mine: Goodluck Jonathan does not know. Some people say, he dares not ask, but that is just hearsay.

What is important is: Patience has a general, and better idea. General because it is one thing to invite a bank to your presence and open several accounts, it is another to be able to swear as to how much is actually in which account.

According to emerging accounts, pardon the pun, on March 22, 2010, Mrs. Jonathan opened four accounts at Skye Bank. Actually, the bank, shepherded by one of her husband’s all-purpose “special advisers”, appeared in her presence to open the accounts.

His name: Waripamo Dudafa. At the time, he carried the powerful label of “Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs” to Mr. Jonathan. He it was who led to Mrs. Jonathan at home, two senior officers of Skye Bank: Demola Bolodeoku and Dipo Oshodi. Her husband was Nigeria’s Acting President; in 43 days he would become President.

The Worst Is Over: Nigeria Will Start Getting Out of Recession

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has predicted that the nation’s economy will likely come out of recession by the 4th quarter of 2016 when the result of the various measures put in place by Federal Government and the monetary authorities becomes manifest.

One of such measures, according to him, is the decision of the CBN to establish a bridge fund for the government to utilise to stimulate the economy whenever there is a need for it.

Emefiele, who spoke to media executives in Lagos on Saturday, said:
“We are already in the valley, the only direction is to go up the hill and the government is doing everything possible to ensure that we move up the hill. I am optimistic that based on the actions being taken by the monetary and fiscal authorities, the fourth quarter results will show evidence that we have started to move out of the recession.

“The worst is over. The Nigerian economy is on the path of recovery and growth. So, please if you are a bystander or sideliner, you are losing; join the train now before it leaves the station.”

We Are Getting Married, But He Didn’t Propose Openly…

written by Queen

When reading through stories of amazing proposals and re-proposals and rings with mighty rocks, I usually go straight to the comments and try to understand people’s perspective of such stories.

Having read a lot of those, I realized that most ladies are now more scared of getting proposed to with a tiny rock or without the usual paparazzi than they are at the thought of the man not proposing to them at all.

Yes, it is that serious.
I remember a friend planning her wedding said she wanted to ask a very important question and she wanted to be sure she isn’t making a mistake.

Eagerly, after the whole introduction of calming her down, I asked her what was making her so worried. For some weird reason I actually thought she wanted to cancel the wedding, but didn’t know how to go about it. (I guess it’s because I treasured their love story and didn’t want any surprises, so I prepared my mind for the worse)
She finally had the courage and asked, “Babe, do you think it is absurd that Jide didn’t propose with a ring and in front of everyone”?

EFCC Summons Patience Jonathan’s Security Aides Over $15m Scandal

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has summoned some officials of the Department of State Services, DSS, who were attached to Patience Jonathan, the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, for interrogation.

Inside sources in the EFCC told revealed that
a letter had been written to the DSS, requesting that the officials be allowed to honour the anti-graft agency’s invitation. A detective told The Punch that the commission had evidence that the said DSS officials had, on several occasions, deposited money into some of the accounts in Skye Bank between 2013 and 2015.

Good Wives, Plan With Your Husband

Personally I'm not owing anyone a dime. Since relocating to Lagos, I've done big and small things, all based on what my resources can accommodate. I am comfortable at my level. In fact, people are owing me, almost a Million now, I guess some of them will end up reading this.

Before the recession they couldn't pay me, is it now that there is no money that I will start pursuing them? Sigh! People need to plan their lives and finances well, especially married couples.

This is where wives come in:
Most times men get into financial issues because they want to impress their wife by spending on her, the way she's seeing other ladies showing off on social media. But if you plan well with your hubby, things would get so good for your family in a short while and everybody will enjoy at a comfortable level, rather than the usual rush of 'buy me this, buy me that' which drains his finances.

Emir Sanusi Advises President Buhari On Economy Again

Former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor and Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to seek advice from credible experts within and outside government to proffer solutions to the economic crisis in the country.

Sanusi, who spoke during the week at the Government House in Kano, asked the President to engage forward thinking individuals to bail the country from the current recession.

The monarch said Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliations and political inclinations, should intensify prayers for the economic growth of the country.

Sanusi’s advice came on the heels of a comment by Catholic Bishop, Reverend Hassan Kukah, who asked Mr President to stop blaming Nigeria’s woes on past administrations and get to work to get the economy back on track.

5 ‘Grievances’ Nigerian Parents Have Against the Internet

Nigerians are privy to how parents are always referring to the past with pride when admonishing children for either good or bad behavior. The phrase is ‘In my time...And as a cultured child, you have to listen to them even if it is absentmindedly. We all dread these sessions with our parents.

This said this is the exact attitude being displayed by parents towards technology generally and the internet specifically despite its seeming advantages. They frown at the way the internet is radically changing children and the society at large.

This has led some parents ‘beefing’ the internet. As an internet or web savvy person, you will disagree as the benefits of the internet far outweigh the negatives. So, what are these grievances Nigerian parents have against the internet? Jumia Travel, Africa’s No 1 hotel booking portal rolls of some of them.

Revealed: Boko Haram Now Fighting and Killing Themselves Over Leadership Battle

The enemies of Nigeria are fighting themselves. There have been deadly clashes between factions of the deadly Islamist militant group Boko Haram, security and local sources have told the BBC.

Details of the violent fighting in the Monguno area of Borno state near Lake Chad are sketchy because of a lack of mobile communications in the north-east.

It was sparked after so-called Islamic State (IS) announced last month that Abu Musab al-Barnawi was the leader of Boko Haram, replacing Abubakar Shekau.

However, Mr Shekau, who initially pledged the group’s allegiance to IS, said he was still in charge.

Top security sources believe the split will help the Nigerian military in its effort to defeat the killers.

This devaluation ‘be like’ 419!

by Henry Boyo
The IMF and other respectable international financial agencies and local economic experts have commended the recent devaluation via a floating naira exchange rate, as an ‘investment’ that would ultimately yield great dividends. We are encouraged to believe that the new forex regime will recharge our economy and sustain inclusive growth with increasing job opportunities, and also reduce our almost total dependence on crude oil, by facilitating the actualisation of a diversified economy.

It is also suggested that devaluation will create a level playing ground to attract investors to build more refineries and similarly, immediately encourage marketers to import fuel to reduce the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s present monopoly.
